Open Gyms

Times are available for badminton, open basketball and open volleyball. If just shooting around is your thing or if you want to play pick-up games, this is the place to be. Basketballs and volleyballs are available for you to use. Open gym hours vary, so please click on the Open Gym Calendar located above, call the Community Center at 515-239-5360 or the INFORMATION LINE at 515-239-5434, category #2 or stop at the Community Center for a schedule. Prices are $1.25 for Adults & $1.00 for Youth.

Play Pals

 
Play Pals indoor playground is sure to excite all little ones! Play Pals is fully equipped with toys beyond belief and is a great way for little ones to meet new friends and perfect the art of sharing! Our slide, teeter-totter, mini-basketball hoops, cycles, wagons, and other toys will keep children busy for hours! This "indoor park" is held at the Community Center Gymnasium at 5th and Clark from 9:00 to 11:00 AM between Labor Day and Memorial Day. This is a great opportunity for moms, dads, and grandparents to bring their little ones to an "indoor playground"! The cost is $1.00 per child per visit. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.  

Adult Badmintion

 
Come and discover the benefits and enjoyment playing this Olympic sport indoors at the Community Center. This is a great activity for older adults who wish to stay active, socialize, and recreate. Badminton is a sport that uses a light racquet and a birdie. The object is to hit the birdie over the net within boundaries on a small court. It can be played as singles (2 players) or doubles (4 players). The light equipment allows beginners to be successful very quickly. Come and give it a try! Questions? Directions to the Community Center:  From I-35 take the Highway 30 Exit and go west. Get off on the Duff Exit and go north on Duff. At the intersection of Duff and Lincoln Way, turn west (left). At the intersection of Lincoln Way and Clark, turn north (right). City Hall/Community Center is a block north of Main Street on the west (left) side of the road.
